American Black Bear

Description
American black bears have a wide range of fur colors, from black to brown, cinnamon, and even white (the Kermode or "spirit" bear). They have a straight face profile, rounded ears, and a short tail.Males typically weigh between 130-660 pounds (59-300 kg), while females weigh between 90-180 pounds (41-82 kg). They stand about 2-3 feet (0.6-0.9 meters) at the shoulder and measure about 5-6 feet (1.5-1.8 meters) in length.
Diet
American black bears have a varied diet that includes fruits, berries, nuts, insects, small mammals, carrion, and occasionally young ungulates (like deer fawns). They are opportunistic feeders and their diet changes with the seasons.They are adept climbers and swimmers, which helps them access a wide range of food sources.
